🌅 Hope

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul prays that God fills believers with all joy and peace through believing, abounding in hope.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

God's plans for His people are plans for welfare, not calamity — a future and a hope.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

All things work together for good for those who love God and are called by His purpose.

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.

The foundational definition of faith — assurance of things hoped for, evidence of unseen things.

Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God.

The psalmist preaches to his own soul: hope in God, for praise is coming.

It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.

Even in devastation, Jeremiah finds hope — God's mercies are new every morning.

but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles.

Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Suffering produces endurance, character, and hope — and hope does not disappoint.

I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.

Waiting for the Lord with a soul that hopes in His word.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Through Christ's resurrection, we are born again to a living hope.
