📜 Obedience
Obedience to God flows from love, not obligation. These verses reveal the blessings that come from following God's commands.
If you love me, keep my commandments.
If you love Me, keep My commandments — obedience is the evidence of love.
You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
Walk in all the ways God commands so that it may go well with you.
Samuel said, “Has Yahweh as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying Yahweh’s voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
To obey is better than sacrifice — God values obedience over religious ritual.
But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
Be doers of the word, not hearers only — otherwise you deceive yourselves.
Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
If anyone loves Me, they will keep My word — and the Father will love them.
ALEPH Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law. Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
We must obey God rather than men — the apostles' courageous declaration.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
Present your bodies as a living sacrifice — your reasonable act of worship.
Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Love the Lord, walk in His ways, keep His commandments, hold fast to Him.
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?
Why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord' and not do what I say?
