Joseph

The Dreamer

Their Story

Sold into slavery by his own brothers at seventeen. Falsely accused and imprisoned for years. Forgotten by the one man who promised to remember him. Joseph's life reads like a masterclass in suffering — and an even greater masterclass in what happens when you refuse to let bitterness win.

From the pit to Potiphar's house, from prison to Pharaoh's palace, Joseph rose not through manipulation but through integrity. And when he finally faced his brothers again — the ones who'd left him for dead — he wept and said the words that define his entire story: 'You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.'

— Genesis 50:20

“Yahweh was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man. He was in the house of his master the Egyptian.”

Character

Resilient, principled, and emotionally deep. Joseph wept more than any other figure in Genesis — at the sight of his brothers, at his father's name, at Benjamin's face. He wasn't cold or stoic; he felt everything and chose forgiveness anyway. His integrity in Potiphar's house cost him years of freedom but preserved his character.

Legacy

Saved Egypt and Israel from famine. One of the clearest Old Testament pictures of Christ — rejected by his own, exalted by a foreign king, and ultimately the savior of the very people who betrayed him. His life proves that God can weave the worst evil into the greatest good.
